Lily’s Life Story
by Andrea Colmen

Hi everyone. It’s me. You guys probably already know me so, I’m not going to say my name. I’m going to tell you a story that I made up myself. So let’s get started. Once upon a time, there was this christian couple. This couple had two children. Their names were Emily and Lily. Emily was 18 and Lily was 16. One day she was listening to music in her room when suddenly she heard her mom crying. Then she heard a knock on the door. “Come in.” she said. Then she saw her dad. “I have some good news and some bad news.” said her dad. “What’s the good news?” Lily questioned her father now sitting on the bed. “The good news is you’re going to start High School next week with all your favorite classes.” said her dad. Lily almost screamed with excitement. She hugged her father tightly. “The bad news is.” then her dad started to stutter. He seemed scared to tell Lily the bad news. “It’s okay dad.” Lily said with an encouraging voice. “Deep breaths, It’s alright.”. Then her father started to speak again. “The bad news is your sister Emily had a car crash and died on her way home from teaching Sunday School.”. Lily’s smile suddenly changed to a surprised look. Then she started to cry. On Sunday there was a funeral for Emily. Then Lily was called to the front of the church. Her mother handed her a paper with the ending speech for the funeral written on it. Lily took a deep breath and read the paper to the church. “ We love people with all our hearts. People who are young and people who are old. People we know and people we don’t know. We love because of kind nature and loving hearts. We also love people because of God’s love for us and for them. These gatherings in the church has reasons. This reason is for a great loss. My sister Emily loved nature and music. We would go out on walks across streets, in the park, to her piano class, and in the forest, just taking in the beauty. Since now she is gone, I will cherish those memories with determination and a love for life ahead.”. On the way to school the next day Lily whispered to herself “ God, my Lord and Savior, why did you let Emily die? Aren’t you the God who raised Jesus from the dead, made blind people see, lame people walk, and deaf people hear?”. After she said that, she felt a fire of anger inside her heart.  From that day on, Lily disgraced the God her parents believed in. Instead she started a new life, but this time she didn’t follow God’s plan for her. Though she didn’t know what God would do to bring her back to faith and trust in him.
I know this is a lot to take in at one time, and it is sad. This is not the end of the story though. There is way more coming soon. Part 2 will be published in a few days. I hope you enjoy this part 1 of the story. I’ll see you in part 2 of Lily’s life story. Bye.
